Electronic Early Warning Score / Wireless Ward

The app is Android based and currently runs on a 7 inch tablet. Patient data are stored securely in a local server or optionally in the cloud. The application as it exists is a direct replacement for an existing HSE paper based system. As such it is intended to eliminate time wasted and potential errors with the existing paper based systems. It provides data entry, logging and charting functions and also calculation of Early Warning Score. However future versions will provide wireless medical sensor integration, enterprise integration using HL7 / CDA, SEPSIS 6 support and implementation of ISBAR and escalation procedures and aggregation of ward patent data at a single supervisor’s station. The app architecture already supports this approach, demonstrated already by the need to implement the earlier HSE MEWS protocol before the current NEWS protocol was adopted.
